Haus Nicholas German Shepherds
Located in Barrington, IL, has owned and trained German Shepherds for close to 30 years and been actively involved in breeding for over 10 years. Our dogs come from top German bloodlines, many of them Schutzhund titled.
At Haus Nicholas Shepherds we believe that breeding German Shepherds means just that. Our focus is to produce a consistent bloodline. We place emphasis on the general and orthopedic health of the animal, sound temperament, strong nerves and correct structure.
Haus Nicholas Shepherds are currently being used in both police and narcotic/explosive detection roles throughout the country.

The high incidence of both health and temperament disorders exhibited in what should be the ultimate example of a companion and working dog is truly disturbing. We believe that importing new bloodlines is essential but those who only import dogs from other breeders (in this country or any other) are not breeding but brokering animals.
At Haus Nicholas Shepherds we believe that the only way to be 100% certain of the genetic makeup of what you are producing and selling is to be actively involved in the generations behind a new pup. No matter how hard any breeder tries he cannot eliminate all problems, but by seeing the actual progeny in a bloodline and not just a piece of paper with names and titles, a much better understanding of each individual dog and the breed itself is achieved.
OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE
At Haus Nicholas Shepherds, our breeding stock consists of German bloodlines with some Belgium and Czech lines. All breeding stock is certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals to be free of hip dysplasia. We have breed numerous dogs that obtained a rating of OFA Excellent. This rating is given to only 3.3% of German Shepherd submissions by OFA statistics!
We guarantee all dogs/puppies hips to pass certification with the OFA at 24 months of age or said animal will be replaced at no additional cost. In addition, we guarantee that our dogs will be free of any serious crippling genetic disease.
